My Story

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) · Nationally Certified Counselor - Therapeutic Coach
Hi, I’m Jamesa — a licensed professional counselor and therapeutic coach with over 20 years of experience supporting people through life’s transitions with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

My work has evolved into what I call slow healing—a compassionate, intentional process that honors your pace, your story, and your whole self (including your nervous system). Healing isn’t a race or a checklist; it’s a rhythm that unfolds when you feel safe enough to lean into your experience.
Professionally, I bring depth and expertise to every session. I am a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor. I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed approaches. But above all, my work is grounded in presence, relationship, and the belief that healing is a collaborative journey.

I’m deeply inspired by Hafiz’s words: “Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I would like to see you living in better conditions.” This reminds me that healing is about moving beyond fear’s cramped quarters and making space for courage, curiosity, and belonging.

I support individuals navigating big changes by blending therapeutic insight with the mutuality of coaching—free from diagnosis or hierarchy. Together, we create honest conversations in a space where you can be fully seen and held.
Outside of 1:1 work, I co-host the Ben and Jamesa Podcast with my husband — a show in the top 5% worldwide — where we dive into real conversations about connection, growth, and the messy beauty of being human. We also provide organizational consulting through www.benandjamesa.com.

After living most of my life in the United States, my family and I sold everything to begin a new chapter abroad. These days, I explore the world through walking trails (hello, El Camino!), local cuisine, and books set in faraway places.
Some of my favorite things? My husband, my two children, morning coffee, evening tea, getting lost in the woods, and cozy nights with our cat Sophie.

I’m thoughtful, gentle, and deeply loving—and I bring that same care into my work. At my core, I believe in freedom: freedom from fear, from smallness, and from old stories that no longer serve you. I’m here to help you find your footing, your rhythm, and your most expansive self
